Shellrae Designs got its start when a hobbyist jewelry maker decided she might just have some real talent at making jewelry. She started showing her designs to friends, family, and even on Etsy.com. Then, a Bridal store in southern utah got wind of her work and bought out her existing stock 3 times in a row to sell to their bridal and prom customers! Friends began to bring her "projects" such as making earrings to match a necklace and bracelet set, or remodeling and repairing older beloved jewelry so it could be worn again.
Shellrae Designs is still run by a hobbyist, but some of her favorite projects have been those that have the most meaning to her customers. One friend brought an old bracelet that her dad had brought back for her from Paris when she was 5 years old. It had been sitting in her drawer unworn for about 60 years. You can imagine her delight when her old bracelet was returned to her, not only functional, but somewhat updated with tiny swarovski crystal details between the tiny square scenes from Paris.
